Phil Evans Joins Forty 1° North as Executive Chef

Executive Chef Phil Evans’ specialty is a fusion of foods from local farms and areas around the world and we are delighted to welcome him to The Grill. His accomplishments and accolades in his dozen years in the culinary industry are numerous. Most recently, he was opening Executive Chef of The Umstead Hotel and Spa in North Carolina, where, in the first six months, he earned both Mobil 4-Star and AAA 5-Diamond ratings. Umstead was named to Condé Nast Traveler magazine’s hot restaurant list in its first four months. Phil was also Executive Chef at the St. Regis Resort in Aspen and played a key role during the resort’s grand re-opening. At The St. Regis Hotel in Houston as Chef de Cuisine, he also received top ratings from Mobil and AAA, and accolades from Esquire magazine. More than once he has been nominated to cook at the prestigious James Beard House and is featured in the “Great Chefs Cook Vegan” cookbook with Charlie Trotter, Thomas Keller, Daniel Boulud and Jean-Georges Vongerichten. Welcome Mark Del Giudice, Marina Manager

Forty 1° North is pleased to welcome Mark Del Giudice as Marina Manager. Mark is a well-traveled captain and crew member who has 25 years and more than 100,000 sea miles of experience in the yachting industry. He has prepared yachts for races including Block Island, Buenos Aires to Rio de Janeiro, Annapolis to Newport, Sydney to Hobart, Palm Beach, Key West, San Francisco, San Diego, Mexico and Antigua. He has cruised in destinations including Cayman Islands, Panama, Tahiti, Bora Bora, American Samoa, Tonga, Fiji, the Great Barrier Reef and Hawaii. Most recently, he was a crew member for a 600-mile race in the Caribbean on board of the 100’ super maxi Leopard III. He holds a United States Coast Guard 200-ton yacht master license and is a PADI certified open water diver. For 13 years in St. Barths he served as the captain of a 65’ custom cruiser/racer, and prior to that logged 50,000 of his sea miles on an 82’ carbon maxi boat.
